Academy Holidays Policy

Last Updated: January 2025

Overview

British Quran Academy observes official Islamic holidays each year. On these days, classes are paused so that our students, families, and tutors can spend time with loved ones and observe the occasion.

Holidays Typically Observed

  • Eid al-Fitr — up to 3 days
  • Eid al-Adha — up to 3 days
  • Day of Ashura — 1 day
  • 12th Rabi al-Awwal — 1 day
  • Selected national holidays where relevant

Exact dates are confirmed each year based on official moon sightings and are announced in advance via WhatsApp.

Advance Notice

We announce Academy holidays through our WhatsApp channel and website at least one week in advance whenever possible. Your assigned tutor will also confirm the pause during the preceding class.

Make-Up Classes

No additional make-up classes are provided for Academy holidays. These days are part of our annual academic calendar, and monthly fees remain the same — the same way schools operate around public holidays.

Special Requests

If a family observes an additional personal or cultural holiday, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance so we can pause the class. Such classes will count towards your monthly rescheduling allowance where applicable.

Ramadan Schedule

During Ramadan, we offer flexible class times to accommodate suhoor, iftar, and taraweeh. Please message us before the start of Ramadan to adjust your regular schedule.
